Shades of Brown: A Review

“Shades of Brown,” is the title of the memoirs of Michael Jazzy Brown. Shades of Brown chronicles the life and legacy of an extraordinary Jazz saxophonist, from his birth to his passing. This story of love, music, adventure, and healing was written by his loving wife, Margaret Lee-Brown.
Michael “Jazzy” Brown was born on September 5, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Early touring with Wilson Pickett and Little Richard, seasoned him as a professional saxophonist. His musical virtuosity took him around the globe and included performances with the likes of many top-tier musicians including Norman Connors, Roy Ayers, Angela Bofill, Alex Bugnon, Bobby Lyle, Eddie Henderson, Jean Carne, Michael Henderson, The Spinners, The Dramatics, Chuck Berry, George Benson, Bo Diddley, Tony Jones, and Billy Paul.
Shades of Brown is an impressive work and a beautiful tribute to a great musician. A CD disc is included in the book. provides a sampling of his musical compositions. Michael Brown was totally into his music and the music came straight from his heart.
